A few quick answers about Kavaná.

Updated October 6, 2026

Which siddur is included?

The current app includes Sephardic nusach, Edot HaMizrach, for weekday and Shabbat services. Open Siddur and choose a service or an individual blessing.

Can I use it offline?

The bundled prayer text and local time calculations work offline. Calendar reading updates, maps, Rav, and the optional Thursday email need a connection.

How do I change my prayer times?

In Settings, choose your location and check the Shabbat candle-lighting and Havdalah settings. Your time zone follows your iPhone. Compare important times with your community's custom.

How does Prayer Mode work?

Give Kavaná Screen Time permission, choose apps to pause, and set your prayer windows or saved places. You can change or stop this in Settings. Saved-place blocking may need Always location permission.

How do I stop the Thursday email?

Open Settings, find Thursday email, and tap 'Stop receiving it' while connected. Wait for the confirmation before removing the app.

Is Rav a real rabbi?

Rav is an AI learning companion. It can make mistakes. Consult your own rabbi for practical halachah. You choose whether your messages are shared with the AI providers before using it.
